It's another installment of 3 empties, where I review 3 products I have used up and express my opinion on how well they worked, how they smelled, their packaging and if I'd make a repeat purchase. It's been a LONG time since I've done one and my husband kept asking me if the bin full of empties was "garbage." And after 10 times, I figure I should probably blog about them. haha Since I have so many, I'm going to group them together by brand or function. Today it will be all about Fortune Cookie Soap.
Now let's get to the empties!
The first product that I used up from Fortune Cookie Soap was a shampoo and conditioner in the scent Butter Rum. This was used up back during the "cold" winter months. (Cold is in quotes because it doesn't get cold really here in Arizona.)
Scent: Rum Butter has a creamy butter toffee scent. I LOVE this scent especially during the colder months.
Feel: Formula on both were amazing, I preferred the shampoo to the conditioner (but I do love their leave in conditioner).

Packaging: Pump plastic bottles. It was a little difficult to get the last bits of products with this packaging, but I'm not gonna complain.
Buy Again: I have some new shampoo (and leave in conditioner) on it's way in more of a fruity summer scent. I do love this scent and am tempted to purchase a shampoo for the winter - the conditioner is sold out.
The next product is Fortune Cookie Soap's Deep Conditioner in the scent Wake Me Up Before You Mango. This lasted quite a while and spoiler alert - I have another on it's way too!
The last product I have to share in this post is Fortune Cookie Soap's Exfoliating Body Wash in the scent of Small Favors. This was also a winter collection and it's been waiting for awhile to be reviewed.
The next product is Fortune Cookie Soap's Deep Conditioner in the scent Wake Me Up Before You Mango. This lasted quite a while and spoiler alert - I have another on it's way too!
Scent: Wake Me Up Before You Mango has notes of raspberry, mango and lemons. Unfortunately this scent is sold out in ALL their products types.
Feel: Great thick deep conditioner that quenches thirsty dry hair. I would leave it in for 10+ mins, while cleaning/picking things up and rinse out while in the shower. My hair would be so soft once dry.

Packaging: Plastic tub
Buy Again: YES! Just like the above shampoo, a jar in the same summer fruity scent as the shampoo I ordered is on it's way!
The last product I have to share in this post is Fortune Cookie Soap's Exfoliating Body Wash in the scent of Small Favors. This was also a winter collection and it's been waiting for awhile to be reviewed.
Scent: Small Favors is described as warm honey with a hint of tobacco, with spiced citrus. It was perfect for the winter months.
Feel: I know this is product is supposed to be an exfoliant, but it was my first experience with a body scrub/wash with pieces of "things" in it. OK...OK, I know they were strawberry seeds, but still - they got stuck in my loofa or I'd miss one on my neck. I didn't like it. Maybe I used it wrong? Maybe I need an exfoliating body wash for dummies book?

Packaging: Plastic pump bottle. This was similar to the shampoo, it was difficult to get the last bit of product out. But not a huge deal.
Buy Again: It's a big nope for me. I didn't like finding strawberry seeds left over in my loofa or under my arm pit. I just can't do it.
I totally understand what you mean about that exfoliant! I had one with kiwi seeds and they got stuck everywhere. So annoying!
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame that the seeds ruined the scrub.
ReplyDeleteYeah, no. No seeds sticking around. But the shampoo and deep conditioner sound luscious.
ReplyDeleteI've tried an exfoliant in a different scent and ended up throwing away half the bottle because I just couldn't deal with the exfoliant. I'm admittedly not a fan of the brand from the variety I have tried although I am curious about their hair products.
ReplyDeletebahahaha, I gotta tell you, I'm chasing a strawberry seed around my teeth right now as I'm reading. I don't think I'd want one in the arm pit....but the Butter Rum shampoo??? Sounds like an awesome winter scent. I liked this past winter. Never wore a coat in December......and then January came. Winter feels like such a rip off to me, but it beats an Alaskan winter! <<< kind of a rambley comment.....
ReplyDeleteHaha that’s why I don’t do empties post. Your husband and the box of garbage is so me!
ReplyDeleteI don't like seeds getting stuck in my pits! I feel ya
ReplyDeleteI had a bath bomb once that left seeds all throughout my bath water and it completely freaked me out!
ReplyDeleteI do want to try their leave in conditioner.
All of those scents sound wonderful! I'm not surprised that the FCS sold out based on the description.
ReplyDeleteI really need to try out that deep conditioner!!!! It sounds amazing so finger crossed I can catch it one day!
ReplyDeleteTotally know what you mean about the last product hate lil leftovers everywhere, which is a bummer because scrubs are so great!
ReplyDeleteThat deep conditioner sounds lovely! I've been meaning to try a product like that out, but I keep forgetting to actually buy one haha.
ReplyDeleteWake Me Up Before You Mango sounds nice. I like fruity scents.
