Girlosity Cosmetics Swatch and Review

Greetings and Nailutations,

*Press Sample*
Today I have a new indie on the block called Girlosity Cosmetics.  I will be sharing most of the new Nature's Vivids Collection and one other polish from her initial collection.  What do you think of when you hear Nature's Vivids?  The color of the sky?  The color of the ocean?  Maybe a bird or a flower?  Or how about some natural elements?  Those are images that Girlosity Cosmetics used as inspiration for her newest collection.

Now let's get to some swatches!

First up is a polish from her initial release called Luscious Lavender.  Luscious Lavender is a soft dainty lavender crelly with silver micro flecks.  It applied smoothly and had perfect formula.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

Now we will get into the Nature's Vivids Collection with Violet Sky.  Violet Sky is a sheer purple glitter jelly that contains purple holographic hexes and micro glitter.  Photos show 3 coats over 1 coat of Luscious Lavender with shiny top coat.

Next we do some bird watching with Peacock Feathers which is a sheer shimmery teal with teal hexes.  This polish is beautiful and formula was easy to work with like the others from the collection. Photos show 3 thin coats over 1 coat of Luscious Lavender with shiny top coat.

Now let's check out the beautiful natural element of gold!  It is imagined in a gorgeous glitter topper called Gold Rush.  Gold Rush contains gold squares, hexes in a few sizes and micro glitter all in a perfect suspension base.  Perfection means there was absolutely zero glitter fishing...all the glitter is floating perfectly!  Photos show 2 coats dabbed on over Polish My Life's Little Red Dress with shiny top coat.

Pacific Breeze has us heading to the ocean to look at the deep blue waters.  Pacific Breeze is a blue sheer shimmer with blue squares and hexes in a few sizes.  This polish looks stunning on it's own and it pops over black as does Violet Sky and Peacock Feathers.  Photos show 3 coats on it's own with shiny top coat (1st photo) and 1 coat over Rimmel Black Satin with shiny top coat ( and photos).

And lastly we have a girl's best friend....why diamonds of course!  Liquid Diamonds is a silver holographic glitter topper that looks amazing over any color.  I have 2 coats over  Jenna Hipp's I Cast A Spell On Blue topped with a shiny top coat.

There is a 6th polish in the collection called Blooming Hibiscus and it is magenta sheer glitter shimmer polish.

Loves:  I love that the polishes look amazing over a light color as well as a dark color.  It's great when polishes are versatile to be used in a light and a dark look.  Another added plus is that Girlosity Cosmetics lacquers are 5-free so they don't contain any of the 5 harsh chemicals that can be found in some polish.  And ZERO glitter fishing was another love of this collection!

Wishes:  I love the colors imagined along with the finishes of these polishes.  I'd love to see this expand to more colors, like a yellow shimmer and a green shimmer!

Happy Polishing,

WingDust Polish Swatch and Review

Greetings and Nailutations,

Every so often I purchase polish from a brand I haven't tried.  I had heard great things about WingDust Polish and wanted to branch out from my usual purchases.  I also saw release photos of 2 new polishes that were holographic AND had flakes....WHAT!?  I had been wanting a purple with gold flakes (college colors) and so during the pre-order I ordered 2.  I'm always nervous trying new indie brands because you never know what you get until it arrives and I will say that WingDust does NOT disappoint!  The sweetest thing is that Stephanie, owner of WingDust, included an extra polish in my order too!

Now let's get to some swatches!

First up is Steel Town Girl, which is a steel blue linear holo with iridescent and turquoise glitter shards as well as 24 karat gold flakes.  I was so excited about these polishes and this one blew my mind!  There was zero glitter fishing and plenty of flakes appeared with each dip of the brush.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

Next up is Meet Me @ Midnight, which is a dusty deep purple linear holo jelly which contains turquoise and magenta micro glitter and 24 karat gold flakes.  This is the one I was most excited for, but I was a little disappointed that the gold flakes were more sparsely incorporated into the polish than in Steel Town Girl.  It took a lot of effort to fish them out...and flake fishing is harder than glitter fishing.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

The last polish is the one that was added in and it is called Snacks Time.  It is a pretty mint glitter crelly that contains white, light blue and yellow hexes, turquoise triangles, light blue circles and my favorite...yellow mini stars.  It is such a pretty polish.  Glitter fishing was required for the larger glitters (stars, triangles).  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

Loves:  Original combinations...holo AND flakes?  YES PLEASE!  And now I'm drooling over Tall, Dark & Roasty which is a chocolate colored holo with gold flakies!

Wishes:  I really love this brand and I'm so glad I tried out.  The only thing I wish is that Meet Me @ Midnight have as much gold flakies as Steel Town Girl.  I also want to see more holo + flakies meet!  Like red, orange, light blue, light purple, grey, black...the list can go on!

April 2015 A Box, Indied Swatch and Review

Greetings and Nailutations,

Today I have the April exclusive polishes from Llarowe's A Box, Indied.  As previously mentioned, Llarowe in an online indie stockist which has a monthly subscription box.  The box's theme was "April Fools" and took inspiration from practical jokes, silly memes and that dang blue and black dress....or was it gold?  The box is currently available for single month purchase.

Now let's get to some swatches.

First up is Blue Your Mind from Black Cat Lacquer.  This blue glitter jelly is a bright royal blue and contains blue and iridescent hex glitter.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat (1st and 2nd photos) and matte top coat (3rd photo).

Next is Made You Look from Serum N5.  Made You Look is a pearlescent polish that contains turquoise rainbow dust that shimmers in the light.  It took 3 coats for total opacity, as it is quite sheer.  Photos show the 3 coats and shiny top coat.

Whoopee Cushion from Crows Toes is one of my favorite in the box.  It is a a dusty pinky-orange resembling a Whoopee Cushion and dries to an almost matte-waxy look.  Photos show 2 coats with no top coat (1st photo) and shiny top coat (2nd and 3rd photos).

Hare Polish's contribution to the box is called Trust No One. Suspect Everyone.  It is a lime green glitter crelly that contains yellow and green matte hex and circle glitters as well as some teeny iridescent blue glitters.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat (1st photo) and matte top coat (2nd and 3rd photos).

The last polish and another favorite is from Pahlish and called Quite Ribbiting.  Quite Ribbiting is a deep teal linear holographic polish.  It's absolutely stunning!  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

Shiny Top Coat: Gem Glam Top Coat from www.dreampolish.com
Matte Top Coat: Polish Matte'rs from www.girlybitscosmetics.com

Loves:  Formula on all 5 were great!  I really love Whoopee Cushion and Quite Ribbiting - I am a sucker for holos and interesting finishes!  I enjoyed that each polish had a different finish as well.  And as mentioned at the beginning, if you liked this box, there are still boxes available from Llarowe.

Wishes:  This was a fun box!  I wouldn't change anything.

Which is your favorite?

Happy Polishing,
Kristi aka @BeginNails
