Beginnails' Sunday Six Week 17

Greetings and Nailutations!

I had a very busy week with swatching, but I was excited I was able to fit in some nail art!  The following are my top 6 manis of the week!

First was a really easy floral pattern.  I used Zoya Piaf as the base color and two Revlon Parfumeries for the flowers and a green striper.  I used a tutorial from @lilyandjinks on instagram.  If you have an orange stick (bamboo stick) all you do is dip it in the polish and make 5 petals, then use a darker color and a dotter to make the center and finally I added green leaves to make it more lush.

Next mani was a simple glitter topper and distressed accent nail.  I used Ciate Advent Calendar colors (I plan on using those babies up until they are gone!) as undies and then topped it with 2 coats of the November Citrine from Super Nails.

Next is ombre stripes.  I started with a silver base and added a quick dry topcoat.  Let it sit until completely dry and then I used Nail Vinyls strips to place on the nail and then painted on 3 different pinks and removed the strips.  Easy and it looks a lot more complicated than it really was.  The hardest part is getting the stops on evenly.

Obviously I have been obsessed with distressed nails.  It is the EASIEST and funnest way to get a neat look with little time.  What I love about it is that it will be different every time.  Paint your nails a base color and let it dry.  Take another color and wipe off all of the polish on the lip of the bottle, now brush against the nail and you get a neat effect.  You can repeat with different colors and layer.  I used the Ciate Advent Calendar colors.

A swatch that stood out to me this week was Dynamite Girl.  I love a matte look of a glitter jelly!  This stunner is from Big Spoon Lacquers.

And lastly, another swatch that stood out to me is The Doctor Lies from CDB Lacquer.  I wore this blue to work and it was very distracting in it's beauty.

I'm hoping to get back on the saddle with nail art this week as well.  I am currently in the process of relocating all my polish from one side of the house to my own "mani-cave"!  SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!

Kitty Polish Swatch and Review

Greetings and Nailutations,

*Press Sample*
Today I have Kitty Polish swatches!  I am a cat person…I adopted an orange tabby named Buzz and when I married my husband, I gained two more orange step tabbies, Henry and Crash.  When I opened the package and saw the adorable kitty labels, I will admit, I did a little happy dance.  I also showed them to one of the cats (Crash) who approved by sniffing it and rubbing on it.  =^..^=  <-- kitty

Kitty Polish is an online store - be sure to go visit!  Let's get to some swatches!

First up is Strength, which is a shimmery crelly that is light blue with hints of grey.  In the light it almost looks metallic, which gives the polish added dimension.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny topcoat and rhinestone placement on accent nail.

Next is Passion, a lilac shimmering lavendar crelly.  Passion is gorgeous and formula on this collection is easy to work with.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny topcoat and rhinestone placement on accent nail.

The last one is called Love.  I must admit, I love Love.  It is light magenta shimmer crelly that is girly, yet with the shimmer it gives it that edge.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny topcoat and rhinestone placement on accent nail.

Loves: First I must say that I absolutely adore the labels.  I couldn't decide between taking a photo showing the cute kitty or the name!  The formulas are amazing and application was a breeze.  I'm excited to see future collections and polishes that Kitty Polish creates!

Wishes:  I wouldn't change a thing.  The only thing I want now, is cute Kitty Polish logo decals for my nails!  What can I say…I love the logo!

Be sure to visit Kitty Polish's online store and follow on instagram (@kitty_polish) for sales and release information.  The store is open now, that includes these 3 shimmer crellies, 2 jellies and some glitter toppers.

CDB Lacquer The Doctor Who Part 2 Collection Swatches and Review

Greetings and Nailutations!

*Press Sample*
Run, don't walk to CDB Lacquer and check out her new collection!  It is Part 2 of the Doctor Who and let me tell you, they are delicious jellies that sparkle like the dickens!  Collection releases March 28th (now!).  Make sure you are following her on instagram for sales and release information (@CDBLacquer).

First up is Cosmic Pull, a yummy black jelly holo with silver holo hex glitter.  This polish applied perfectly and looked gorgeous under natural light.  (The light box only gave me blurry photos.)  Photos show 2 coats and silver striper outline on the ring and pinky with shiny top coat.

Next is Hello Sweetie, which is a gorgeous barbie pink holo with silver holo hex glitter.  This one blew my mind.  It has that Doctor Who tie in and a girly color - it is science chic!  Photos show 2 coats with shiny topcoat.

Third polish is a purple jelly holo called The Doctor Lies.  Let me tell you what happened with this polish.  I loves purples and I love jellies and I love holos.  So I may have squealed a little bit in delight. CDB Lacquer combined all those things to create this masterpiece!  Photos show 2 coats with shiny topcoat.

Lastly to round out this collection, is a royal blue jelly holo called Magic Box.  This one is a looker too!  I am really loving these jellies.

Loves: formula on these polishes were wonderful and went on smooth and were easy to work with.  The color selections were perfection - basic colors that can used repeatedly for great designs.  And of course an added bonus besides being pretty polishes is that they are 5-free and don't contain the 5 nasties that polish can contain.

Wishes: is it bad that I wish there were more colors with the same finish?  Pssst…hint hint Cheyenne…I want these polishes in more colors!  :)

Make sure you head over to CDB Lacuqer to order these beauties as they should be up for sale today.

Drip Drop Nail Paints' Spring Colors Swatches and Review

Greetings and Nailutations,

*Blogger Package*
Today I have another picture heavy post of beautiful 'nail paints' from Drip Drop.  Make sure to visit her online store Drip Drop Nail Paints and follow on instagram for sales and promotions and new releases (@dripdropnailpaint).

Let's get to some pretty swatches!

The first is a St. Patricks themed polish and FYI it's on sale, so go snatch it up before it's gone for good!  It is called Sparkling Shamrocks.  Think of a pretty pastel green with a hint of olive in certain light and in the sun you see the most subtle holo that takes your breath away.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny topcoat and hand dotted/bowed accent nail.

Next is a glitter topper that is also on sale.  It is called Good Luck Charms.  If you love chunky glitter this is the polish for you!  Green squares, micro holo glitters and light green hexes all combine to create a fun look.  Photo shows 1 coat with glitter placement and a shiny topcoat.

Now into some great spring colors and great combos that the brilliant mind of Jessica has created!

Princess Jessica is a bubble gum pink glitter crelly with gold glitter.  I saw this polish and immediately thought of Jessica the owner.  (Think of a cute little blonde pixie who loves pink and that is her!)  I had to do a few photos with a crown, since it is called Princess.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny topcoat.

Can neon pink and light green go together?  Kiss That Frog answers that question with a huge YES IT CAN!  A light green glitter crelly with neon pink hexes in 2 sizes, this polish is perfection in a bottle.  Photos show 2 coats with a zig zag pattern on two middle nails topped with a shiny topcoat.

Next is Royal Bling which is a lavender creamy subtle holo.  This beauty had to have a tiara added to it.  As with all Drip Drop Nail Paints, the formula is amazing….like buttah, goes on smooth!  Photos show 2 coats with shiny topcoat.

Now moving to some spring releases!

Morning Glory is a lavender glitter crelly with blue and purple glitters.  It is beautiful!  Photos show 2 coats with shiny topcoat.

Whistling Winds is a dreamy sky blue glitter crelly with blue, silver and purple glitter.  This one may be one of my favorites.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny topcoat.

Last polish for today is You Are My Sunshine.  This warm yellow glitter crelly has light green hexes in it.  You will smile and feel warmth spreading from your face to your finger tips with this bad boy on.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny topcoat and sunglasses nail decal.

Loves: I cannot rave enough about Drip Drop Nail Paints formula.  This formula is comparative to the formula of Dior and Butter London high end polishes I have tried - no kidding!  Jessica goes above and beyond with her packaging as everything arrives wrapped cute in tissue paper and stickers.  She is a complete doll who takes pride in her good quality product.

Wishes: The square glitter was a little too chunky for my shorties (recently trimmed), so I probably could have done better swatching if the glitter was a little smaller.  Other than that - don't change a thing Jessica!
