We are now onto Day 3 for the Digit-al Dozen using the prompt Throwback. I'm revisiting old costumes I have worn. I shared my Sally and my Bumble costumes and today is going to make you laugh.
Let's get to the details.
So this costume isn't exactly a costume. I know...I know...you are looking at the photo thinking "how in the heck is this not a costume BeginNails?" And then you are getting a weird mouth twist and furrowing your eyebrows thinking "Girl, who in their right mind would be wearing a clown costume but it's not a costume?" Ok, Ok...so let me explain - I used to be a clown. "What?!" For reals, I worked as a clown in high school. I even did the whole "clown college" classes to learn how to face paint myself as well as kids at parties. I mostly did company picnics. This was my outfit....I just mixed and matched a bunch of patterns. And this was the inspiration of my mani!
Products used:
Moonflower Polish - Dia (Link to Lantern and Wren, affiliate code press sample)
Ever After Polish - Black Magic
Clear Jelly Stamper - Big Bling Stamper (press sample)
Esmaltes da Kelly - Soap Bubbles
Cuticula - Nail Tape
LINA Nail Art Supplies - Spring 01 Plate
Ejiubus - EJB-08 Plate
Polish My Life - Little Red Dress
Zoya - Hunter, Sailor
Heather's Hues - Heart of the Matter
Simply Spoiled Beauty - Nail Art Pens
There is so much going on in this mani, I'm going to go finger by finger.
Pointer: I started with a blank canvas of Dia and used nail art pens to create colorful dots to mimic my turtle neck
Middle: I started with Dia and stamped using EJB-08 stamped with Little Red Dress, Sailor and Hunter. This was to mimic my totally 90's plaid shorts. (Dating myself there huh?)
Ring finger: Inspired by the floral top, I started with Black Magic and stamped with Dia using Spring 01 plate. I colored it in with Soap Bubbles.
Pinky: I started with Black Magic and used the nail art pens to create random patterns to look like my leggings.
So that is my clown mani, inspired by my high school job on the weekends. True story, 1 time I was driving home from a 4 hour event with one of my sisters and a friend (who were both dressed as clowns with me). We were all in high school and knew not to pick up strangers BUT...hey we are dressed as clowns and we saw a hitch hiker. I slowed the car down to act like I was going to pick up the guy and he quickly put his thumb down and shook his head. We all burst out laughing. Not sure why people are scared of clowns.
I hope you liked my mani and be sure to check out the other Throwbacks below!
Happy Polishing,
Kristi aka BeginNails
