It's another installment of 3 empties, where I review 3 products I have used up and express my opinion on how well they worked, how they smelled, their packaging and if I'd make a repeat purchase.
Now let's get to the empties!
The first product that I used up was Suave Shampoo, which I won in a giveaway from Love For Lacquer. I got a ton of hair products and am working my way through them.
Scent: clean, refreshing
Feel: It allows my natural waves to flourish with out being weighed down
Feel: It allows my natural waves to flourish with out being weighed down
Packaging: Flip top cap in a narrow plastic container. The only drawback to the packaging is that it doesn't allow the product to stay upside down if I'm trying to get every last bit of product out.
Buy Again: Yes. I'm really impressed with Suave - affordable and high quality brand.
The next product I used up was Foaming Hand Soap from Fortune Cookie Soap in the scent of Small Favors.
The last product I have to share in this post is Ole Henriksen Power Bright. I picked this up on a whim from Sephora. It is a 3 step system that helps your skin by Step 1: polishing with a sugar scrub, Step 2: brightens with vitamin C concentrate and Step 3: cleanses with melting cleanser.
The next product I used up was Foaming Hand Soap from Fortune Cookie Soap in the scent of Small Favors.
Scent: Small Favors - FCS's online store describes the scent as honey with a hint of tobacco and spiced citrus slices. I enjoyed the cozy scent and used it during the colder months.
Feel: for a foaming soap, this was more on the liquidy side

Packaging: Plastic foam dispenser. Many times it was top heavy and the top part would get stuck and the product would spray all over the sink and miss my hand.
Buy Again: I am using up the last of the Hand Soaps from FCS and then making sure I stick with Bath and BodyWorks for my foaming hand soap until I find something to replace it.

Scent: strong citrus scent, that I sometimes mistake as pine scent
Feel: The first step uses very coarse sugar, which isn't my preferred way to exfoliate my face. The next step you leave on your skin for 2-3 minutes. This part was fine, then the next step you add the melting cleanser and leave on for 10-15 minutes. I lasted about 5 minutes. It started stinging/burning. When I removed it, my skin was red and it was very flakey and dry for the next few days.

Packaging: You can buy this in a single use trial pack or as a set of 6 treatments
Buy Again: This wasn't my cup of tea. My skin is just too sensitive (or basic) and prefers plain soap and water.
Have you tried any of these products? Did you have different experiences with them?

The foaming hand soap scent sounds interesting, but a wonky pump is a no-go for me. I would totally consider buying their soap if they sold it in refill bottles.
ReplyDeleteSame here!
DeleteI liked the idea behind Fortune Cookie Soap products, but the quality of most things I've tried has been severely lacking. I don't think I've tried a foaming hand soap from them, but your less than stellar review sadly isn't very surprising.
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of the lotion, cuticle oil, face oil wash and solid soaps. Everything else has been meh.
DeleteI love the BBW foaming soaps. I usually pick them up for under $2 during their sales.
ReplyDeleteOh same here! <3
DeleteI used to get the FCS box, but I hardly ever LOVED anything so I canceled it.
ReplyDeleteSome boxes are better than others. I do like the assortment of scents so I can figure out what I like and prefer.
DeleteI've always wanted to try FCS.
ReplyDeleteThey have some really good sales, which I take advantage of to try new products to figure out what I like.
DeleteYou go girl, empties posts are the best!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Thanks! I have a box full of empties still to do...sigh, it never ends! haha
DeletePower Bright sounds quite strong! My face is already peely and flaky thanks to acne scar revision procedures, so I'll stay far, far away.
ReplyDeleteOh yes - I wouldn't recommend this for you at all.
DeleteI've always wanted to try Fortune Cookie Soap products!
ReplyDeleteThere products have been hit or miss for me, but I love their soaps and lotions.
DeleteI haven't used Suave in years - I should give it another try.
ReplyDeleteI really thing a lot of the less expensive brands had to step up their game to appeal to those of us that want high quality. :)
DeleteI've always wanted to try the FC Soap products - they look so good!
ReplyDeleteI love most of them. LOL - the whipped creams are my fave!
DeleteStill love Suave!!
ReplyDeleteIt's one of those products I can remember using as a child and still come back to it as an adult.
