Beginnails' Sunday Six Week 7

Greeting & Nailutations!

What a week!  I was so excited this last week.  A mani I had in my Sunday Six last week was featured on Nail It Magazine's Facebook Page as well as their Instagram!  I was really happy (grinning ear to ear more like it), but more excited for the indie brand that I was featuring for that mani.  I squealed a lot!

OK, onto my Sunday Six!

The first is a swatch from Love, Angeline called Aurorae.  Blog post done on these last week as well - I LOVE this glitter bomb.

Next is a fun swatch for Super Nails called Amethyst for her birthstone collection (February).  Topped it over a lavender & dark purple & added a fun tape design & stud on the accent nail.

This third mani is also a Super Nails glitter topper called Love You To The Moon And Back for her Valentine's Day collection.  Cute silver holo hearts, stars & crescent moons were floating in black glitter.

Next is a fun glitter crelly with turquoise & purple glitter.  I added 2 leopard print nails with matching colors.

Used a Zoya Pixie Dust (a glittery textured polish) called London.  Truthfully, I have issues with textured polishes…I can't handle the….well texture of it.  So after this photo, I add a top coat & it is smooth.  With topcoat, Pixie Dusts are still gorgeous, but not as textured.

Lastly is my tribute to the Seahawks, playing today!  GO HAWKS!

Love Angeline Review of MeiMeiSigature Duo and Giveaway

I am super-dee-duper excited to bring this next review and giveaway.  Why?  Because Love Angeline is one of my favorite indie brands.  This brand is one of my favorites for a few reasons.

1. Natosha's customer service is top notch.  Delivery is always quick & I love that you can pre-order collections - especially as a blogger, this helps.
2. Her collections & color combos are original, fun & interesting.  For example, Christmas polishes tend to be green & red, Natosha's collection was a silver holo, a black/silver/red glitter topper and a white glitter crelly with rose and gold glitter.  They had festive names, but can be worn throughout the year!
3. Her polishes are pretty.  I wear them and I feel pretty.  Even the dark colors, which are usually more edgy make me feel pretty....and honestly, who doesn't want to feel pretty?

These are the reasons I am forever a Love Angeline groupie.  :)  

The duo I am reviewing today is an exclusive only sold on Mei Mei's Signature store, an online indie distributor out of Singapore that ships world-wide.  You can buy other Love Angeline collections from her own store.

Now let's get to the swatches!

First of the duo is Beautiful Collision, which describes it completely - a beautiful collision of soft colors.  Coral, purple, light pink and olive green glitter floating in a very light pink.  This color reminds me of my toys as a child (Strawberry Shortcake & her gang of food named friends).  Colors are soft and delicate and make me feel….you guessed it pretty!

The second of the duo is Aurorae and it is a glitter bomb!  Aurorae is a dark grey (or gray if you prefer that spelling) holo micro glitter with turquoise glitter polish.

And now that you have gotten through these beautiful swatches, the best news is that I purchased a second set of this gorgeous duo for a lucky winner!

January A Box, Indied Review

Greetings & Nailutations,

I know I missed the December A Box, Indied, but I have a good reason!  I got the box a bit late & then the holidays happened and I got behind.  So let's start the year off with the January box.  All can be purchased from Llarowe, which is an online distributor of indie nail polish, located in the US.

The first polish swatched is from Dollish Polish & is called Auld Lang Syne.  It is a very soft yellow ivory holo.  It has a lovely formula & is opaque in 2 coats.  It is so pretty & a great color for spring & winter!

Next is my favorite of box, which is Frozen Fairy Floss by Different Dimension.  It is a glitter topper containing white & pink snowflakes, white and pink medium sized circles and silver holo large circles and white and silver glitter.  It is one of those glitter toppers that will look fabulous over almost any color undie!  I love a versatile glitter topper.  An added plus is that there was zero glitter fishing!

The third polish was a wonderful surprise, in that it was a holo glitter crelly!  It is a white holo crelly with turquoise glitter.  This stunning beauty is called New Beginnings and is from Liquid Sky Lacquer.

The next is a glitter topper from Freak Show Polish called Fire In The Sky.  What I loved about this one is that it is the first polish I own with iradecent bar glitter, along with silver bars, purple, red, magenta and silver glitter.

Lastly is a polish from Wicked Polish called Dropping Balls.  It is a beautiful royal blue glitter jelly.  This polish was on the thick side.  Application was a bit difficult and due to the thickness, it made seeing the stars & circles & glitter on my nail difficult, but the color may have made up for it, as I love a royal blue polish.

Beginnails' Sunday Six Week 6

Greetings & Nailutations!

This is my 6th week of doing the Sunday Six, I hope you are enjoying it.  This week brings 5 nail art manis & one swatch.

This first one is a swatch from Ruby White Tips called You Sea Me?  This blue is gorgeous & is one of my favorite colors.  The pearly shimmer was stunning!

This next mani was doing two themes.  One for pastel blue & the other for the AZ Nail Community Meet Up theme of blue (glad they were both blue!).  I created half moon combined with random stripes with striping tape.

Next one is a chevron mani, where I used a mint undie with a adorable glitter topper from Drip Drop Nail Paint called Hairy Buffalo.  This looked like a floral print from far away & was very distracting at work.  :)

A super easy technique used here is called distressed nails.  It gives a neat effect.

This photo turned out a bit blurry, but I love a polka-dot-mani aka dotticure!

And this last was for a Pop Art theme.  Bright colors are always fun!

Ruby White Tips Review & Giveaway

Greetings and Nailutation,

This review is on Ruby White Tips, which I actually found on Etsy.  I decided to purchase a few colors that looked pretty to me & Laura was kind enough to throw in 2 extras!  I also bought extras, so the giveaway will included 4 random polishes from her line.

Onto some swatches!

The first is from the Breaking Bad collection (which I now understand the names as I am currently watching Season 3!).  This beauty is called Cleptomaniac for Marie.  It is a gorgeous shade of purple with a shimmer to it.  Easy application, great formula & can we focus on the lid for a second?  How freaking adorable is that decorated lid?

Second swatch is also from the Breaking Bad collection & it is called Better Call Saul.  This is a shimmery pearl opal color.  This is 3 coats, but this color would also be perfect for a french manicure with 1 coat.  I loved the color of this one, although there was some slight texture seen in the formula (ring finger shows some of it).

Next is a lovely blue, called You Sea Me?  This blue is perfection in a bottle.  If you combined pearl, blue and creamy, this would be what you get.  You Sea Me? was my absolute favorite (which I don't see selling on her easy anymore).

Lastly is Pussy Wagon.  In the bottle and in filtered light it was a rustic pearl color, but in the right light, the color transforms (as seen in the last photo).  It is shimmery and different colors pop out.  I love a polish with a surprise.

Pros: great colors & effects with the pearl & shimmer - drooling over some of the gorgeous colors she has in her store now.  I can't get over Ashley Rose which combines thermal and holo!  Loved the cute lids, a little hand touch artistic embellishing always makes something extra special.  Overall formula was great & easy to apply, plus fast drying times.  Another thing that is heart warming, is that she has a collection where 50% of the proceeds go to Bat World Sanctuary in Texas.  Bats are easily misunderstood creatures and I am glad that she sees the beauty in them.

Cons: only little issue I had was with the formula in Better Call Saul, but it still looked beautiful on & wasn't a problem in application.

Painted Polish Review

Greetings & Nailutations,

This blog review is on a new-to-me indie brand that I was able to get a deal on during the Black Friday craziness.  :)  I can't resist an indie sale!  It is my kryptonite!  This indie brand is called Painted Polish (IG: @paintedpolishbylexi) and is 3-Free (no Dibutyl Phthalate, Toluene, or Formaldehyde).  Many indie brands are 3 free, so I was happy to add this brand to my collection.  Painted Polish can be bought here: Painted Polish  (I am drooling over her Hunger Games Collection!)

Now let's get to some swatches!

The first is called It's So Sparkly & well….it is!  Think of a super glitter bomb containing silver, turquoise, pink and lavender glitter and that is what you have when you apply It's So Sparkly.  Every direction you look at it, it shines in your eyes!  The only way this polish won't live up to it's name is if you are in a total pitch black room.  Haha!

Next up is Enchanted Embers, which is a black jelly with red circles, hexes, orange & gold hexes.  This one is part of the Halloween duo.  I am one who loves a black jelly especially when the glitters have a color scheme to it & this one does not disappoint.  When I stare at this polish I see a campfire at night, as it is slowing burning out….the glowing embers sparkling, twinkling like fireflies.

The third polish is called Day of the Doctor, named for Dr. Who fans.  It is a blue jelly with different blue hex glitters.

Next is a glitter topper called Pretty in Pink.  It contains light pink & black circles, black diamonds and small black and pink glitters.  Below I have it over a very light pink base.  I adore circle glitters, so I was very excited to throw this puppy on.

Lastly I have Neutron, a micro glitter topper containing royal blue and silver holo.  Below I have it over a very light blue base color and the ring finger is a glitter gradient.  I really liked this one, the micro glitters give it a neat effect.

Pros:  Variety of polish types: glitter bombs, glitter toppers, glitter jellies (and even glitter crellies in her Hunger Games collection), all formulas were great and easy to apply.
Cons: none!  Although, some may say that being sold out of the Hunger Games collection is a con.  :)

I am excited to have tried Painted Polish & am enjoying my journey through trying indies, as I hope you are too.  I will have to add this brand to my list of loved ones.
