June 2015 A Box Indied Swatch and Review

Greetings and Nailutations,

Today I have the June exclusive polishes from Llarowe's A Box, Indied (just barely getting them posted in the month of June!).  As previously mentioned, Llarowe in an online indie stockist which has a monthly subscription box.  The box's theme was "Nauti(cal) Indied" and took inspiration from sailing and the ocean.  The box is still available for single month purchase for a reduced price.

Now let's get to some swatches.

First up is Stormy Seas created by Colors By Llarowe.  Stormy Seas really does look like a stormy sea...when the light in the sky grows dark and the water darkens.  It contains purple iridescent micro flakes, turquoise iridescent flakes and magenta shimmer in a royal blue base.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

Next is Girly Bits Cosmetic's contribution called Pirate Booty.  This polish is a gold glitter bomb filled with gold hexes in multiple sizes.  After two coats there was clear patches of visible nail, so I did 2 coats with a sponged on layer and it was textured with each layer.  I love how sparkly it is in the daylight bulb.  Photos show 2 thin coats plus 1 sponged on and 2 coats of shiny top coat.

Hare Polish's contribution is called Lost on Abalone Shores and is a grey crelly that contains purple and green iridescent flakes as well as green holographic flakes.  The color combination is quite original and nothing I have seen before.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat (1st and 2nd photos) and matte top coat (3rd and 4th photos).

Next is Whale Hello There! from Serum N5.  Whale Hello There! is a grey crelly which contains royal blue hexes in 2 sizes,  gold flakes, red hexess and yellow hexes in a few sizes.  This polish reminded me of a little kid's adorable sailor suit.  And as with most Serum N5 polishes this one glows in the dark.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

The last polish in the box is Different Dimension's Ships Ahoy!  Ships Ahoy! is a blue holographic polish is green small hexes as well as green iridescent flakes.  I love how this polish looked in my daylight bulb.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

Matte Top Coat: Polish Matte'rs from www.girlybitscosmetics.com

Loves:   I really like the imagery that this collection portrays...sailing, oceans, pirates!  My favorite of the group is Serum N5 because it glows in the dark and really paints the picture of a sailing adventure.

Wishes:  For a summer box, the colors were quite dark (more winter/fall), so I imagine this may be why the box hasn't sold out (and is actually on sale for a reduced price).

Which is your favorite?

April 2015 A Box, Indied Swatch and Review

Greetings and Nailutations,

Today I have the April exclusive polishes from Llarowe's A Box, Indied.  As previously mentioned, Llarowe in an online indie stockist which has a monthly subscription box.  The box's theme was "April Fools" and took inspiration from practical jokes, silly memes and that dang blue and black dress....or was it gold?  The box is currently available for single month purchase.

Now let's get to some swatches.

First up is Blue Your Mind from Black Cat Lacquer.  This blue glitter jelly is a bright royal blue and contains blue and iridescent hex glitter.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat (1st and 2nd photos) and matte top coat (3rd photo).

Next is Made You Look from Serum N5.  Made You Look is a pearlescent polish that contains turquoise rainbow dust that shimmers in the light.  It took 3 coats for total opacity, as it is quite sheer.  Photos show the 3 coats and shiny top coat.

Whoopee Cushion from Crows Toes is one of my favorite in the box.  It is a a dusty pinky-orange resembling a Whoopee Cushion and dries to an almost matte-waxy look.  Photos show 2 coats with no top coat (1st photo) and shiny top coat (2nd and 3rd photos).

Hare Polish's contribution to the box is called Trust No One. Suspect Everyone.  It is a lime green glitter crelly that contains yellow and green matte hex and circle glitters as well as some teeny iridescent blue glitters.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat (1st photo) and matte top coat (2nd and 3rd photos).

The last polish and another favorite is from Pahlish and called Quite Ribbiting.  Quite Ribbiting is a deep teal linear holographic polish.  It's absolutely stunning!  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

Matte Top Coat: Polish Matte'rs from www.girlybitscosmetics.com

Loves:  Formula on all 5 were great!  I really love Whoopee Cushion and Quite Ribbiting - I am a sucker for holos and interesting finishes!  I enjoyed that each polish had a different finish as well.  And as mentioned at the beginning, if you liked this box, there are still boxes available from Llarowe.

Wishes:  This was a fun box!  I wouldn't change anything.

Now let's get to some swatches.

First is Black Cat Lacquer's glitter jelly called Dance All Night.  Dance All Night is a black jelly that contains rainbow holographic dust, hexes in a few sizes and colors as well as crescents and stars.  This polish is fun and perfect for a night out on the town!  Formula was nice and no glitter fishing!  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat (1st and 2nd photos) and matte top coat (3rd and 4th photos).

Next is a holo called Out With The Old, In With The Blue from Different Dimension.  This holo is a very pale green/blue.  I love this polish because it is a holo in a shade I don't have!  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

Pop, Fizz, Clink! from Hare Polish is another polish included in the January Box.  It is a dark magenta-purple glitter jelly that contains gold and silver hexes, circles and little stars.  Easy formula to work with.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat (1st and 2nd photos) and matte top coat (3rd and 4th photos).

Crows Toes contribution to the box is a gold and silver glitter topper that contains hexes in a few sizes and is called Overtime till Spring.  This polish is versatile and will look great over any color.  Photos show 2 coats over Lavish Polish Lovely and shiny top coat.

The last polish in the box is from Pahlish and is called Brand New Baubles.  Brand New Baubles is a navy blue base with teal, purple and gold flakes.  Oh my word, this polish is absolutely gorgeous.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat (1st and 2nd photos) and matte top coat (3rd photo).

Shiny Top Coat: Gem Glam Top Coat from www.dreampolish.com
Matte Top Coat: O.P.I. Top Coat

Loves:  Formula on all 5 were great!  Colors were all fun and I'm a huge fan of polishes that look amazing shiny and matte and this box had 3!  If I had to select a favorite....eek, I'm not sure I could!  The holo is a shade that I don't have, the flakies are amazing, the black glitter topper is so fun....I could keep going!  This box was pure perfection!

Wishes:  I wish every box was like January's!
