MAXUS Nails Empower Collection Swatch and Review

Greetings and Nailutations,

*Press Sample*
Today I will be sharing some creamy swatches of 4 polishes that MAXUS Nails sent me.  These 4 polishes are part of the Empower Collection and are available now.  Going through their instagram feed I was blown away that their products have been used on celebrities!  I'm not one to usually fawn over celebrities, but to say "I wore the same polish as Angelina Jolie" kind of makes me feel a little special.

Now let's get to the swatches!  All photos shown in filtered light (light box) and LED light (simulated sunlight).

First up is Admired, which is described as a "rich bold color of regal, lustful bordeaux."  My photos show it a little less bordeaux and a little more deep red.  Formula went on smoothly, it's on the thinner side and high pigmented.  Once I got the hang of how much I really needed on the brush, applying the polish was so quick and easy.  Photos show 2 coats with a glossy top coat.

Next is Adored a soft gentle pale pink nude (for my skin tone).  On MAXUS Nails' site it is described as a "chic pastel pink."  I will say this - in 2 coats for this shade to be completely opaque is a miracle and it really speaks highly of the formula and pigmentation.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny topcoat.

My favorite of the collection is Inspired a bright stunning red.  It is described as a "rich boldly energetic primary red" on their site and it really delivers it with a punch.  I will always be drawn to the classic red nail.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

The last polish of the Empower Collection is called Respected.  Respected is a deep dark vampy shade of red.  MAXUS describes it as "a rich bold stately, majestic merlot." This is a great fall color!  Photos show 2 coats with a glossy top coat.

Let's talk about packaging.  I'm a sucker for a nice box with the name on it.  Not only does MAXUS Nails have the name of the polish on the box, but also a sticker in the same shade!!  GENIUS!  (Especially for this of us with our polish in Helmers - this makes a quick identification of what you need.)  The other great thing about MAXUS Nails is that their lacquers are 11 free - yes 11 free.  They don't contain 11 chemicals that could be toxic.

Top coat/base coat from Glisten and Glow

Loves: I am a huge fan of the formula, it's creamy, it self levels, it's highly pigmented to create opacity in 1-2 coats.  I love the message behind the Empower Collection.  When I wear a lacquer that has some fierce name, it truly makes me feel unstoppable.  (Being a female in the male dominated field of engineering, yes even my polish can help.)

Wishes: I really wish the creamy colors expand into a wider span of color range (orange, purples, blues, metallics)

  4. I love that Adored has a great formula! Generally when the pale shades work well, I can expect the darker ones to be easy!

  6. Love how the merlot spans red, black, and brown. Companies are going a bit Cray Cray with the "free" number though haha

  7. These are pretty basic colors and I think I saw they are pretty expensive. I don't really care what Angelina Jolie wore. Lol. But your swatches are nice and clean!

  9. Respected is intense! Almost looks black -- which will be so fun to wear in the fall and winter. I always love a good vampy nail polish color!
