Glisten and Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat Review

Today I am going to share my thoughts on Glisten and Glow's Ridge Filling Base Coat.  I must make a confession - I have ridges.  Yes, vertical nail ridges (hangs head in shame).  Usually I can hide it with base coats.  I have another confession - I rarely wear nail polish full time because after 1 shower, it flakes off.  Guess what?  THIS HAS CHANGED thanks to some help from Glisten and Glow.

Let's get to the review!

Glisten and Glow's Ridge Filling Base Coat is a milky white base coat that has a light white hue when applying to your nail, which makes my nails look more healthy.  Here is 1 coat over my bare nail.  I do have 1 large ridge on my ring finger that no amount of base coat will hide.

Here is the macro comparison.  Top - bare nail, middle - base coat in filtered light, bottom - base coat in LED light.

I wanted to do a durability test since my polish flakes off after 1 shower and I believe it is a combination between my base coat choices and top coat choices.  I paired the Ridge Filling Base Coat with Glisten and Glow Top Coat.  I initially cleansed my nail plate with alcohol, used 1 coat of Glisten and Glow Ridge Filling Base coat, 2 coats of Turtle Tootsies Polish Pink Ladies, added some nail art and then topped it with Glisten and Glow Top Coat.

Now here is after 5 showers and doing ZERO touch up with top coat between days!  I was so surprised that I had no flaking until the 5th shower!  Furthest left is day 1 and taken after a shower, farthest right is after the 5th shower where evidence of flaking is shown.

Loves: Not only does it fill my minor ridges, but it's durability is what won me over.  I also love that on it's own, it makes my nails look healthy.
