Greetings and Nailutations,
It is Day 2 of the Digit-al Dozen theme: Rainforest. I decided to do a Ladybug (or Ladybird or Ladybird Beetles or Lady Beetles) mani. Ladybugs are not just rainforest critters - they are everywhere (for the most part) but they are still adorable, so hence this mani.
Now let's get to the details.
Products Used:
Drip Drop Nail Paint - Miss Dotty, Yoga Pants
Simply Spoiled Beauty - Black nail art pen
Rimmel London - Stiletto Red
SuperChic Lacquer - Marvel Liquid Macro Top Coat
Heather's Hues - Heart Of The Matter
The pointer and middle finger have Miss Dotty as a base. I used a nail art pen to draw a vertical stripe and a half moon at the edge of the nail along with 2 adorable eyes. The ring and pinky nails have Stiletto Red along with dots using Yoga Pants. Everything is topped with Marvel Liquid Macro Top Coat.
And then I had to see what it looks like with Heart Of the Matter - because one must mattify everything. :)
Fun fact: Ladybugs are helpful insects - they consume plant eating insects (aphids). So next time you see one, be sure to thank her!
Be sure to check all the amazing manis below from other Digit-al Dozen members!
Happy Polishing,
Kristi aka Beginnails

DeleteAww these are so cute!! I love the little glitters!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marisa!
DeleteSquee! How cute is this? Here's another ladybug-related fun fact: When my sister and I were six, we found our first ladybug and decided to KISS it! I went first and it ended up biting/stinging my lip and I went back inside trying to hide my badly swollen lip. Sis snitched on me and we had a huge fight even as the grown-ups were scolding me for going about kissing insects.
ReplyDeleteHAHA! This is an amazing story! :) No more kissing bugs girl! haha
DeleteI adore red jellies like this!
ReplyDeleteMe too! <3
DeleteThis is sooo cute. I love the little bit of glitter and it's awesome matte
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle!
DeleteAw these are the cutest! Can you believe I've never done ladybug nails? Also, we call them Ladybirds :)
ReplyDeleteI totally googled ladybugs and found that other places called them ladybirds or ladybird beetles.
DeleteWhaaa so cute!!! I think I've done ladybugs once, but it might have been during the pre-blog era, so you're inspiring me to do them again!
ReplyDeleteI think I had done them a long time ago too, so I used this as an excuse to redo them. :)
DeleteCute!
ReplyDeleteThat color is very beautiful! Love the lady bug design.
