It's a Digit-al Dozen week and the theme is Decades! I was really drawn to this theme and I made a list of fun ideas. When it came down to it though, I had to give myself a reality check and what I am capable of (especially if I don't have a stamping plate of the images I want). I decided to start with the 50's.
Let's get to the mani!
Products used:
Tighty Whities (white creme), Yoga Pants (black creme) from Drip Drop Nail Paint
This Life Turns A Good Girl Bad from Lemming Lacquer
Clean Up Brush from Clear Jelly Stamper (press sample)
Lots of Dots (dotting tool) from Mitty (press sample)
Gem Glam Top Coat from Dream Polish (press sample)
When I think of 50's, I think of poodle skirts and saddle shoes. I initially planned on creating a poodle, but at the end of my work, I realized it looked like...well...just picture if a velociraptor and a giraffe had a baby with fur...yah...like that. So I switched to polk-a-dots. :)
So, what do you think when you hear 50's? Do you see 50's in my mani?
As always be sure to check out the other Decades manis below from the Digit-al Dozen.
Happy Polishing,
Kristi aka BeginNails

DeleteYay for Polka Dots! Love the combo of the two designs!
ReplyDeleteLOL - polk-a-dots are the best! Great minds think alike! ;)
DeleteAhaha! Velociraptor/poodle! I wanted to do a poodle as well, and stopped for the same fear. You end look is gorgeous though!
ReplyDeleteLOL :) It scared me...I showed it to my husband and he did the "well, what did you want it to be?" haha
DeleteWere poodle skirts in the 50's? I love that you drew saddle shoes as part of the mani.
ReplyDeletePoodle skirts were the 50's icon! I googled Poodle skirts to verify & it says "The poodle skirt remains one of the most memorable symbols of 1950s Americana and is frequently worn as a novelty retro item, part of a nostalgic outfit." I was paranoid for a second. haha
DeleteOMG, I need to this velociraptor/giraffe/poodle! These are nails are really cute too!
ReplyDelete* I need to see
DeleteHAHA - I'll see if I can find it, I practiced on a nail stick!
