The Creepy Crelly Crate is an adorable box that contains 5 polishes, a cuticle oil and a mani bomb all Halloween themed. It is no longer available, but I figured I would share the swatches as well as the fun manis I created!
Now lets get to the manis!
First up is a vibrant orange crelly from Bohemian Polish called Harvest Moon. Harvest Moon contains gold micro flakies as well as iridescent micro flakies. As soon as I put this on - I remarked to my husband "orange gets a bad rap and I think this is gorgeous!" Why does orange always get overlooked as beautiful? My first guess is because there is no word that rhymes with orange! :) Photos show 3 coats for total opacity with shiny top coat.
The nail art look includes some Hitchcock inspired water decals from Green Goddess Creations.
Next is the contribution from Polish M called Where My Witches At? I love a good 'punny' polish name. Where My Witches At? is a green crelly with a ton of flakies as well as green, purple and gold holographic glitters dispersed. I love the touch of glitters. Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.
To jazz up my "witches" I added some witch hat decals from Nails Redesigned and some black gems.
Noodles Nail Polish's contribution is a fun white glitter crelly called Ghouls Night Out (again with the puns lol - keep them coming!!). Ghouls Night Out contains black, purple and neon green hexes in a few sizes as well as silver micro glitters and let's not forget my favorite part - black star glitters! Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat. It needed slight glitter placement - but ZERO glitter fishing.
For the nail art I used Winstonia W221 plate along with MPolish Dancing In the Streets and a Clear Jelly Stamper for stamping and protected my skin with Gem Block Liquid Latex from Dream Polish.
Lolita Polish contributed a black glitter crelly (which almost touched upon being a jelly due to it's being slightly sheer in 2 coats). Bruja (which is witch in Spanish) contains a rainbow assortment of hex glitters. I like that they weren't too heavily thrown in and lightly dispersed. Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.
I knew I had mattify Lolita Polish Bruja, so the nail art was simple with a Fab Ur Nails FUN5 plate and stamping with Tighty Whities from Drip Drop Nail Paint and a Clear Jelly Stamper. The matte top coat is Heart Of the Matter from Heather's Hues.
The last polish and my reason for buying (since I'm a DDNP groupie) is Drip Drop Nail Paint's Spider Eyes. Spider Eyes is a lavender blue - is bluevender a word? Can we make it one? This is a bluevender crelly with micro flakies in the color of spider webs! Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.
The nail art look included stamping using Winstonia W116 Plate, Yoga Pants from Drip Drop Nail Paint and a Clear Jelly Stamper. I also attempted to use Ribbits Stickits water decals. Since they are made of paper - they don't dissolve with nail polish or acetone so if your nail isn't flat - you get wrinkles. I was a little disappointed in the end result of the wrinkles, but I like the overall concept of keeping with a bluevender look.
Shiny Top Coat: Gem Glam Top Coat from Dream Polish
Loves: Formulas on all were perfection as expected - as I've tried them all in the past. This was a cute box and I'm really happy that I ordered it. I love the colors and that each had a completely different look too.
Wishes: I wish I would have done mattified look for all the glitter crellies! (Going to go kick myself now.)
Do you have a favorite?
Happy Polishing,
Kristi aka BeginNails

DeleteFun box! I love the Drip Drop and Polish M.
ReplyDeleteA CRELLY CRATE!!!! That's like a dream come true to me.
ReplyDelete:) Yesssssss!
DeleteI love orange polish and have no idea why it gets bad rap - most of my neutral polishes are orange or tan-toned.
ReplyDeleteRight? Poor orange - it's like the uncool kid but when it grows up - it is actually the coolest kid of all! :)
DeleteThese are fun colors! I don't why people diss on orange. It's one of my favorite colors to wear! I think people just don't like getting compliments or something. :)
ReplyDeleteMe too! I love deep dark oranges too - they are so pretty!
DeleteLove the texture of these polishes. And I actually quite like the little nail art you have done over them
