Today I'm sharing a trio of jellies from Black Label Nails called the Pop Rocks Collection. There are lots of jellies in the indie world to use in lead lighting and nail art, but these jellies also glow under the black light! All of the Black Label Nails products are 5-free so they don't contain 5 of the harsh chemicals that can be found in nail polish.
Now let's get to some manis!
First up is Strawberry, a bright pink sheer jelly. It applied nicely and 2 coats provides nice coverage with slight visible nail line (VNL). Photos show 2 coats on ring finger and jelly sandwiched with Drip Drop Nail Paint Prototype 672 topped with shiny top coat (1st, 2nd and 3rd photos) and matte top coat (4th, 5th and 6th photos). The 7th photo shows the matte version under black light! Look at that glow!
Next is Green Apple, a bright green sheer jelly. This was my favorite of the trio due to it's color and reaction in the black light. Photos show 3 coats on ring finger and jelly sandwiched with Liquid Afterglow Lacquer E.T. Love topped with a shiny top coat (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th photos) and matte top coat (5th, 6th, 7th and 8th photos).
The last of the trio is Tropical Punch, a blue sheer jelly. Tropical Punch was a lot more sheer than the other 2 of the trio. Tropical punch took 4 coats and didn't get the same coverage as the other two, it also had some small micro pigments. When I alerted Jennifer to this she welcomed the feedback and investigated it and was looking at a new batch. Photos show 4 coats on ring finger and jelly sandwiched with Heather's Hues Blue Moon topped with shiny top coat (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th photos) and matte top coat (1st, 2nd and 3rd photos).
Just as a tease - I also did nail art with these puppies and will share the black light versions!! I will have YouTube videos up later with all the nail art! So be sure to follow me there. Swatch video is up there too!
Loves: I love jellies! They work for lead lighting (stamping coloring), jelly sandwiches and so much more. I also love that this collection reacts to the black light. And of course I love that these products are 5-free.
Wishes: I wish this collection had a neon purple, orange and yellow to fill out the rainbow. I know Jennifer will remedy the formula issue on Tropical Punch for the next batch.
