Digit-al Dozen: January Birthday Mani

Greetings and Nailutations,

Today we are celebrating 2 birthdays in January from the Digit-al Dozen!  Both Courtney from Polished Lifting and Brethil from Druid Nails celebrated birthdays this month!  The inspiration photo spoke to me because...well cacti!  I see these babies everyday and if you keep reading I will share some random facts about them too!

Cactus Facts

  • The cactus in the picture looks like a prickly pear cactus
  • They have fruits that are harvested for yummy things like ice-cream!
  • I've tried prickly pear ice-cream and it tastes like a light version of raspberry mixed with strawberry
OK, enough nerdy facts about cactus.  :)  Let's get to the mani!
Products used:
China Glaze - White on White
Esmaltes da Kelly - Soap Bubbles (blue, green, orange)
Dream Polish - Gem Glam Top Coat (press sample)
Lantern and Wren - Double Ended Sponge Wand (press sample)

I started with White on White and topped with Gem Glam Top Coat.  Once that was dry, I delicately sponged on different soap bubbles.  After a few sponge dabs, I used a black striper and created the cactus.  I topped it all with Gem Glam Top Coat.  I wanted to make them colorful since we are celebrating some birthdays.

Be sure to check out all the manis below!

Happy Birthday again Courtney and Brethil!

  1. Cute Mani! How does the top coat perform when used in multiple coats? Any shrinkage?

    1. No issues at all....typically new or fresh bottles work best for me though.
