Drip Drop Nail Paint Oz Collection Swatch and Review

Greetings and Nailutations,

*Press Sample*
Today I will be sharing a glittery 6 piece collection from Drip Drop Nail Paint inspired by the movie Wizard of Oz.  It is one of my favorite movies of all time - a true classic.  Each polish provides imagery of a scene in the movie and the sparkle creates a dazzling show on your nails.  There are 3 different ways to wear/apply these glitters.

1. Apply 2 coats (maybe 3) for a glittering spectacular nail
2. Apply 1 coat over an undie to create a fun glitter topper feel
2a. Glitter between jelly finish polish for a a fun jelly sandwich
3. Apply 1 coat and then sponge glitter on to make a completely opaque glitter nail

I demonstrate the first and 3rd applications on my YouTube channel in the swatch video - be sure to check it out!

Now let's get to the swatches!
Warning: Picture heavy post with photos in filtered light as well as simulated sunlight to give the full holo effect.

First up is I Hear A Beat, which is a silver holographic micro glitter inspired by...who else?  Do I really need to tell you?  The tin man of course!  For I Hear A Beat, I applied 1 coat and then sponged on the excess to create an opaque look then topped it all with a nice thick layer of glossy top coat to smooth out the surface.

Another Lincoln is a copper holographic micro glitter polish inspired by the scarecrow.  This is my absolute favorite - I love metallic colors.  I applied 1 coat and then sponged on the excess to create the opaque look and it is finally topped with a nice thick glossy top coat to smooth out the glitters.

Next is Poppies, Poppies which is a red holographic micro glitter polish inspired by the scene of poppy flowers which makes the characters all fall asleep while on their way to the Emerald City (not Seattle...haha).  I applied 1 coat Poppies, Poppies and then sponged on more to create an opaque look that is topped with a thick glossy top coat to even out the glitters.

Bubbles Are Just For Show is of course inspired by Glinda.  Bubbles Are Just For Show contains both pink and lavender holographic glitters.  Photos show 2 coats with glossy top coat.

Then there is Bell Out Of Service (which will bring a smile to all Seattle fans out there - you'll find out in a second) inspired by the Emerald City.  Not only is Seattle nick named the Emerald City this polish contains both green and navy holographic glitters (Seahawks colors!).  Photos show 1 coat with sponge technique topped with a thick glossy top coat.

The last polish of the Oz Collection is Laugh The Day Away inspired by the fabulous makeovers that the characters receive at Emerald City.  Laugh The Day Away contains lavender holographic glitters. Photos show 2 coats topped with a glossy top coat.

Other products used:
SuperChic Lacquer - Marvel Liquid Macro Top Coat
Ribbits Stickits - Cuticle Cover

Loves:  I love the sparkle and magic these polishes create on your nails.  I also love that you can create so many different looks with the 3 techniques in applying the glitters.  And of course I love the collection for the inspiration!

Wishes: I'm hoping there are more micro glitters on their way for an expansion of this collection.  I'd love to see polishes inspired by Toto (grey?), Wicked Witch (different shade of green), Dorothy (blue with specs of red), The Lion (???  brown), Oz (unsure) and of course that brick road they follow (yellow).

Are you a fan of the movie?  What would you love to see?

Happy Polishing,
Kristi aka BeginNails

  2. The collection is gorgeous! Honestly, I loathe The Wizard of Oz. I know, everyone thinks I'm insane, but I have always despised that movie, even when I was little. I've read Wicked, I adore that book. I've read it at least 10 times, but keep that movie off my TV, haha!

  4. I'm not a Wizard of Oz fan, but these are cute! I don't wear glitter bombs on all my nail, but I do like them as an accent nail!

  6. I love how sparkly these are, but when I saw they were Wizard of Oz-themed, I expected there to be a Yellow Brick Road, and maybe a multichrome (based on the Patchwork Girl).
