Digit-al Dozen: Get To Know My Passion

Greetings and Nailutations,

It is the last day of Digit-al Dozen Get To Know Me prompt.  I've been enjoying learning about my fellow DD sisters.  Today I will be sharing my passion, my love - theater.  I absolutely LOVE going to the theater - to be transported through imagination and art to another time or place with live acting is amazing to me.  The first play I saw live (other than high school plays which I watched as well as participated in) was Phantom of the Opera - the classic.  My husband and I donate to our local Broadway venue every year so that we can get some extra benefits (meeting actors, better parking, tickets dead center in the first 20 rows and of course tax write off! haha).  I decided to do a mani inspired by the only play that I have seen 3 times: RENT!  I also have a playbill that is signed by some of the cast that was in the movie!

Let's get to the details!

Products used:
Bliss Polish - Mandarin, Ocean, Seaglass, Mint, Basil, Cherry
Jenna Hipp - Just One Bite
Drip Drop Nail Paint - Yoga Pants
SuperChic Lacquer - Marvel Liquid Macro Top Coat
Heather's Hues - Heart of the Matter
Simply Spoiled - Nail Art Pen

The 6 Bliss Polishes are from the Bliss Basix Cremes and worked great for the background base I was recreating.  I then used a porous sponge and Yoga Pants from Drip Drop Nail Paint to provide some speckles.  I then free handed the letters.  Here it is with shiny top coat.

Here here it is with matte.  I may like matte a little better.

Are you a fan of theater?  If so, what has been some of your favorites?  My other favorites include: Lion King, Legally Blonde, Mary Poppins, Young Frankenstein, RENT, Book of Mormon, Finding Neverland, American Idiot....ok, I'll stop - I have so many more I love.  :)

Happy polishing,
Kristi aka BeginNails

  1. OMG I LOVE RENT! Even knowing the storyline, I was not prepared for how intense the experience was the first time I saw it! I love that you shared your love of it on your nails; it looks beautiful!

    1. It's so amazing! The songs - the acting - the storyline I bawled the first time and still shed tears after the 2nd.

    1. Thanks so much Michelle! I'm so jealous! I've only seen 1 play in NYC (Avenue Q). We are trying to figure out what to see next week still.
