Dark Horse Lacquer Summer Escapes Shimmers Swatch and Review

Greetings and Nailutations!

It's been awhile since I've posted - I've had a lot going on.  My mother and niece were visiting for the last 3.5 weeks, the tree at the house they were staying in fell down due to a huge storm, I flew back to Seattle with my mom and niece for my mother's retirement party and then lastly attended the Seattle Indie Shop.  (Yes, I totally convinced my family to hold the retirement party the same weekend as The Indie Shop....#priorities!)  :)

Today I'm sharing the first collection from Dark Horse Lacquer - Summer Escapes Shimmers.  It consists of 5 shimmer polishes that can be swatched to opacity in ~3-4 coats, used as toppers AND THEY STAMP!!  I also have an extra polish to share that was sent to me as well!

Let's get to the swatches!

First up is Strawberry Smoothie, which is described as a red-orange strawberry shimmer polish.  Photos show 3 coats with glossy top coat.

Next is Sunshine and Giggles, which is described as a bright, sunny yellow shimmer polish.  Photos show 3 coats topped with a glossy top coat.

Pond Reflections is described as a duo chrome that shifts from green to blue.  Photos show 3 coats with a glossy top coat.

Somewhere In The Middle of Nowhere is a blue shimmer with purple highlights.  You can really see the purple in the macro.  Photos show 3 coats with a glossy topcoat.

The last polish in the collection is Mermaid Scales is a cerulean blue shimmer with blue and green glitters.  Photos show 2 coats for opacity with a glossy top coat.

The last polish can also be purchased on her site and it is a magical topper called Faerie Trix.  Here is 1 coat of Faerie Trix over black....LOOK AT THAT SHIFT!!!!

OK, so you saw Faerie Trix over black, how about all the true shimmers over black?  Below are Strawberry Smoothie, Sunshine and Giggles, Pond Reflections, Somewhere In The Middle and Faerie Trix all over black and just 1 coat of them all!

Now for the polishes being stamped over black!  OMG, I freaking love shimmers stamped over dark colors!

Loves: Stamping shimmers?  YES!  I've been wanting some brighter shimmer stamping polishes (I only have pastel ones) and I got my answer.  These will be great used for pond manis as well!  PS - I also heard they water marble!!

Wishes:  I was going to wish for the collection expands to more shades of shimmer (gold, silver, purple, orange, neons?)....and guess what, a purple one has been created!  Score!

  13. I love these over black and they stamp! I'm super surprised by that since you needed 3 coats for most of them.
