Daily Hues Nail Lacquer Selected Polishes of the Spring 2016 Blurple Garden Collection Swatch and Review

Greetings and Nailutations,

*Press Sample*
Warning - picture heavy post!  :)
Today I will be sharing 6 of the 14 (yes, you read that correctly...14!) polishes that are part of the Spring 2016 Blurple Garden Collection from Daily Hues Nail Lacquer.  You can pre-order the entire month of February and it officially releases March 1st.  This collection is filled with purples and blues in a few different finishes!  Be sure to check out her instagram, Facebook and store to see all 14 of the beauties.

Now let's get to some swatches!
First up is a micro glitter bomb called Hydrangea.  It is dense enough to get an opaque-textured look, but it can also be used as a glitter topper.  Hydrangea contains white and mint matte micro hexes as well as lavender and aqua iridescent micro hexes.  Photos show 1 coat swatched and then topped with a layer sponged on to give a textured look with shiny top coat (1st through 5th photos) and also used as a glitter topper over Deux from Painted Polish (6th, 7th and 8th photos).

Next is a holo called Lobelia.  Lobelia is described as a dusty navy (aegean) holographic polish.  Formula on this polish was amazing and it applied perfectly.  Photos 2 coats (although you can get away with 1 thicker coat for opacity) with shiny top coat.

Morning Glory is one of the most unique polishes I have seen.  It is a shimmer polish with iridescent flakies, teal small holographic hexes as well as some color shifting dust!  This polish would look different in every angle and I will add that it will look great as the base to mermaid nails.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

The next polish threw me off for a "hot" second (pun intended).  Nelle (H), is a previously released polish, but with the addition of holo.  It is thermal and holographic!?  That is like having 2 looks in 1 polish....like a normal everyday look and then a "let's go on vacation look!"  Nelle (H) was very sensitive and was changing on it's own without any help.  It is blue when warm and purple when cold.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

Another unique polish in this collection is Pansy.  Pansy is a lavender creme with golden shimmer throughout.  This polish is gorgeous and I love how different it is.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

The last polish, and my favorite is Rose.  Rose is a dusty maroon-pink-red holographic polish.  I absolutely love the color.  I had to also try the "matte the holo" look on this polish too.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat (1st through 6th photos) and matte top coat (7th through 10th photos).

Loves:  I love the formula on DHNL polishes.  Her holos, cremes and shimmers go on smoothly and apply like butter.  I am a huge fan of blues and purples so a "blurple" collection was a fun idea.  I love that she went for different finishes (shimmer, creme, holos, thermals, glitter bombs) - it creates something for everyone.  I also love that DHNL polishes are 5-free, so they don't contain the 5 harsh chemicals that can be found in polish.

Wishes: Although a large collection creates something for everyone, I prefer smaller collections - so it isn't so overwhelming for the die hard DHNL fans who must have all DHNLs.  :)

I will have a swatch video up on my YouTube Channel Let's BeginNails, so check there for live swatches!

  4. Holy crap, Pansy! These are all gorgeous, but Pansy wins it for me. I like Hydrangea, too, I definitely had to do a couple of double-takes to check out that glitter. Great swatches!

  6. None of these scream to me right now but I love how well you captured each one and photographed them from different angles.

    1. I think that may be one drawback to making a collection that has similar color themes. If someone doesn't happen to like the colors, you kinda lost them. ;)

    1. Rose was my favorite and Pansy was a close second. That purple shimmer of Pansy is drool worthy. :)
