Beginnails' Sunday Six Week 41

Greetings and Nailutations,

Another week of nail art in the books!  I have quite a few nail art photos stored in my phone so I'm able to release a photo or two a day when I'm on vacation.  I spent 3 days of this last week in Palm Springs, California and it was nice to take some time to re-charge.

Here are my favorite 6 manis of the week (posted to Instagram).

This first mani, I used Amazing Chic Nails School Uniform and a white nail art pen to draw on leopard print.

The next mani, I used Waves N' Sandcastles from Candied Apple Polish and MoYou London stamping plate Princess 14 along with Teal from Polish Pusher to color in the butterflies.

This mani shows Gia as the base and Keely (both from Daily Hues Nail Lacquer) used with Nail Shields from Love, Angeline Polish.

Here is another mani where I used Nail Shields from Love, Angeline and Farrah and Cicely both from Daily Hues Nail Lacquer over black.

Daily Hues Nail Lacquer received a lot of love this week.  This mani is using Farrah, Caitlyn and Ariana in a water marble topped with China Glaze Fairy Dust.

The last mani was using Blameless from Pure Nail Lacquer over black with MoYou London Princess Plate 10.

Which is your favorite?  My two favorites are the butterfly stamping and the star stamping.

Daily Hues Nail Lacquer Winter Collection Swatch and Review Part 1

Greetings and Nailutations,

*Blogger Package*
This is the first of two parts for the Daily Hues Nail Lacquer Winter Collection (I will also have her Winter Holiday Collection as well).  The collection contains muted darks (work appropriate) in glossy or matte finish.  The collection is perfect for nail art bases as well!

Now let's get to some swatches!

First up is Violet, a lovely soft purple-lavendar.  Violet has some blue shimmer to it and a satin finish.  Formula was easy to work with and applied evenly.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

Next is Ivy, which as the name suggests is a pale forrest green.  Ivy contains green shimmer and also has a satin finish.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

The last polish for today is Charlotte, a shimmery orange-maroon-brown color....or if you will terra-cotta.  This was my favorite out of these three reviewed.  I love the color and the shimmer - and that the color can be worn all year.  Formula was creamy and perfect.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

Shiny Top Coats: Gem Glam Top Coat from Dream Polish  (Summer Melon scent) from www.dreampolish.com

Loves:  Daily Hues is 5-free so it doesn't contain 5 of the nasties that can be in polish.  These colors aren't too bright and make a great base for nail art (I'll be posting some nail art on my instagram account with these three).  Formulas were all perfect.  It's also nice that they come in two finishes.

Wishes:  Love that this collection is different than most winter collections...matte/glossy and colors that push the typical "winter" collection palette.  I wouldn't change a thing.

Daily Hues Nail Lacquer Winter Holiday Collection Swatch and Review

Greetings and Nailutations,

*Blogger Package*

Today I'm sharing the gorgeous Winter 2014 Collection from Daily Hues Nail Lacquer.  Think sparkle....and well, more sparkle!  These are all available now in her store.

Now let's get to some swatches!

First up is Carol, a red holographic polish.  Carol was so pigmented and creamy that it had complete coverage in 1 coat (I did 2 out of habit).  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

Next is Holly, a green holographic polish.  Formula was same as Carol and this polish I did only do 1 coat and got complete coverage.  Photos show 1 coat with shiny top coat.

Eve is next, a silver holo glitter bomb.  Eve was so dense with glitter that it only took 2 coats to get complete opacity.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat in both filtered light and simulated sunlight.

Lastly is Noelle, a gold holo glitter bomb.  Noelle also took only 2 coats to get complete coverage.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat in both filtered and simulated light.

Shiny Top Coats: Gem Glam Top Coat from Dream Polish  (Summer Melon scent) from www.dreampolish.com

Loves:  1-coater polishes are always amazing!  In addition, the fact that the glitter bombs only needed 2 coats to get full coverage is a feat on its own.  Daily Hues is 5-free so it doesn't contain 5 of the nasties that can be in polish.  Formulas were all perfect and easy to work with.

Wishes:  I wish I could paint my house in the color of Noelle....but the HOA would probably get mad.

Daily Hues Nail Lacquer Winter Collection Swatch and Review Part 2

Greetings and Nailutations,

*Blogger Package*
This is the second part of the Daily Hues Nail Lacquer Winter Collection (Part 1).  The collection continues with some really interesting and beautiful colors with hidden shimmer.

Now let's get to some swatches!

First up is Stella, a light brown polish with some hidden shimmer!  In filtered light Stella looks like a calm brown that is a perfect neutral and then in the simulated sunlight you see aqua shimmer (it almost gives it an iridescent look).  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

Next is Harper, a dark black with more hidden shimmer!  In simulated sunlight Harper highlights blue and purple shimmer.  I loved the dark vampy look of this color.  Formula was smooth and creamy. Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

The last is Savannah....my favorite of these 3.  Need a gold in your collection?  Or rather an antique gold?  This color is like nothing else I have (which is why I loved it).  Great formula to work with.

Also remember that these polishes come in both glossy and matte finish.  I love that I don't have anything like Savannah.  Formula on all these three were perfect just like the previous three!

Wishes:  Love that this collection is different than most winter collections...matte/glossy and colors that push the typical "winter" collection palette.  I wouldn't change a thing.

Daily Hues Nail Lacquer Kristi Swatch and Review and Giveaway

Greetings and Nailutation,

Today I am sharing a polish that is super special to me.  This polish is from Daily Hues Nail Lacquer and her newest collection contains 4 collaboration lacquers with bloggers she works with.  So let me introduce you to Kristi, named after yours truly!

Let's get to some swatches!

When Jenn from Daily Hues Nail Lacquer asked me what I wanted for my own polish, I asked her to duplicate her holiday polishes (Eve and Noelle), a gold and silver glitter bomb but make Kristi a black holographic glitter bomb.  It was super easy to work with Jenn and she kept me up to date on the status and checked in with me every so often.  When Kristi arrived, I was so happy and pleased with the result.

So, meet Kristi, she is a black holographic glitter bomb in a clear base.  Formula is perfect and I placed two coats over a black undie and a shiny top coat.  I also swatched it on it's own and it required 3 thin coats for total opacity.

I also did some nail art with it over a base of Pure Nail Polish Innocence and Love Angeline tribal vinyls and topped with shiny top coat.

Kristi, along with 3 other blogger collaborations are available now!  They will be $8.50 and are available online (store link below).

GIVEAWAY will be on my instagram account!  Check #BNDHKristiGiveawayrules for the rules (which should be live January 13th!)

Shiny Top Coat: Gem Glam Top Coat from www.dreampolish.com

Loves: easy to work with, great result, wonderful formula!

Wishes: I now wish I had my hands on the rest of the blogger collection!  WOW, there is a purple that makes me weak in the knees!

Daily Hues Fall Colors Part 1 Swatch and Review

Greetings and Nailutations,

*Blogger Package*
Fall is approaching quickly and cooler weather should be upon us, which calls for autumn collections too!  The next 3 blog reviews will be about Daily Hues Nail Lacquer Fall Collection.  The collection includes satin creme finishes, glitter crellies, holos and glitter bombs.  The collection is due to be released September 1st.

Now let's get to some swatches!

First up is Caitlyn, a soft satin blue.  Color is calming and reminds me of a clear sky.  Formula was smooth and easy to apply.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

Next is Arianna, a steel grey with subtle rainbow holo dust.  Metallics are always really popular in the fall and this color is the perfect shade to add a touch of steel to your fingertips or use as a base for nail art (which of course I did....you'll have to wait to find out what I placed over it!).  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

Farrah is one of the polishes that I was surprised to find in a fall collection.  In some lights in the bottle it looks almost neon, but once you put it on and look at it, you see a bright pink, but gold shimmer in it that gives it an orange look.  The gold shimmer really gives this polish an extra pop of dimension and out of the four I'm showing today, quickly became one of my favorites.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

The last polish is called Cicely.  Cicely is very mysterious.  The bottle had me expecting a turquoise color, but really it is almost a navy-gray jelly with turquoise and navy fine micro glitter.  I did not expect that!  It was a pleasant surprise as I saw the color develop over a few coats.  Photos show 3 thin coats with shiny top coat.  I painted this color over black with some nail art and it looks really pretty over black.

Shiny Top Coat: Gem Glam Top Coat from www.dreampolish.com

Loves:  Formula on all 4 were perfect, easy application.  Colors are fun and great to use for nail art and let's just say - they can be used for water marbling AND stamping (were those hints for my nail art?).  Another added bonus is that Daily Hues is 5-free so it doesn't contain 5 of the nasties that can be in polish.

Wishes:  These were fun and pretty - I have no wishes to improve upon these 4.
