3 Empties: Savannah Bee Shampoo and Conditioner, True Blue Spa Sugar Scrub and Whish Body Butter

Greetings and Nailutations,

It's another installment of 3 empties, where I review 3 products I have used up and express my opinion on how well they worked, how they smelled, their packaging and if I'd make a repeat purchase.

Now let's get to the empties!

First up is a shampoo and conditioner pair from Savannah Bee.  I spotted these in my local Sprouts Farmer's Market and truth be told - the only reason I purchased them is because I spotted the bee logo!  Yes, I know - bee obsessed.

Scent: the front mentions lemongrass and spearmint, which I considered an odd pair.  The strongest scent I picked up was the spearmint with soft background notes of lemongrass.  While the scent pairing wasn't horrible, it was difficult to "nasally-digest"...that is totally a thing.
Feel: the shampoo consistency wasn't like typical shampoo - think Elmer's glue (thick).  The conditioner was nice and thick and stayed put.
Packaing: squeezable plastic flip top containers, my favorite!
Buy Again: I know I love bee things, but the scent and texture of shampoo were a little too off for me, so I will pass.

Next is True Blue Spa Sugar 60-Second Manicure Hand Scrub which I picked up from Bath and Body Works.

Scent: citrus scented - very strong citrus, the ingredients do list both orange and lemon extract (makes sense!)
Feel: small size sugar granules and a soapy sudsy feel after rubbing your hands together.  This was more of a scrub AND soap cleanser for your hands.
Packaging: Small plastic tub with screw off cap.  I did use a small spoon I had on hand to scoop the product out to keep it sterile.
Buy Again: I did love this product (although I did need to moisturize post use), the scent was refreshing and the product did do a great job of exfoliating and cleaning.  I'm such an indie lover though, that I will steer towards indie brands vs mainstream.

The last product is a body butter I got in a Birch Box from Whish.  As soon as I used this I know I would love it.

Scent: a soft sweet scent of almond, my husband was eyeing the lotion since he loves the scent of almond, but I hid it at work from him. (HAHA!)
Feel: moisturizes without feeling greasy, absorbs quickly and of course smells amazing - I know already covered scent but seriously YUM!
Packaging: only thing i was bummed about is that it was a sample size but was used up so quickly, I'm unsure if that was due to me using it so often or because they sometimes fill sample sizes less than full.
Buy Again: I would totally purchase a full size, however if I did I am worried it would be confiscated by the hubby!

Have you tried any of these products?  How did you feel about them?

Happy emptying!

  1. Why would they put lemongrass and spearmint together? That's just odd!

    1. Right? I'm not sure who decided those went together at the company. Citrus and mint don't do well....ever drink orange juice after chewing minty gum? ew

  2. My husband loves to sniff out and squirrel away lotions and body washes with vanilla, pumpkin and fruit scents. I discover them missing and have to go get them back. lol

    1. HAHA! I hand over most of the almond and orange creamsicle stuff to him, but I kept this one lotion for myself.

  4. I totally laughed at you hiding a product from your husband. Mine has no interest in anything like these but my toddler will abscond with anything! Great review!

  6. Yay empties! The True Blue scrub sounds pretty good! I think it's so funny that you had to hide that lotion tube from your husband. My boyfriend is zero percent interested in lotion, so I like to hear about the men who are.

    1. LOL - my hubby LOVES LUSH too! The conditioner he uses to shave with. And he loves some of the shampoos too.

  7. That lotion looks delightful!
I WISH I could get my husband interested in using mine. Sometimes his face gets so dry but the only way it gets moisturised is if I do it by force!
