3 Empties: Dream Polish Gem Glow Cuticle Oil, Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle and Fortune Cookie Soap Whipped Cream

Greetings and Nailutations,

It's another installment of 3 empties, where I review 3 products I have used up and express my opinion on how well they worked, how they smelled, their packaging and if I'd make a repeat purchase.

The first product is Gem Glow Cuticle Oil from Dream Polish in the scent of eggnog.  I received this as a press sample to initially review for the winter scent release.  During the colder winter months I rotated between Eggnog and Grammy's Treats - both delicious scents.

Smell Test: This came in as a close second to my favorite winter scents, just behind Grammy's Treats.  There are notes of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and vanilla that swirl around to create the sensation of eggnog on those cold nights.
Feel Test:  Gem Glow Cuticle Oil moisturizes and soothes my dry cuticles
Packaging Test:  The pen, is my favorite cuticle oil packaging - easy to control amount used, travel friendly and I'm able to get the oil on my cuticles, on my nails and under my nails without my fingers being greasy.
Buy Again:  Yes!  I have a collection of her oils!

The next product is Fortune Cookie Soap Whipped Cream in the scent of We're All Mad Here.  I love FCS whipped creams - they are soft, moisturizing and I love the packaging.

Smell Test:  Unfortunately, after using this lotion a few times, my husband complained about the scent.  To me it smelled heavily of men's deodorant.  It was a little too overpowering.  I would only use it when we didn't carpool.  But we carpool often, so after a few weeks of not using it, it dried out a bit and I no longer want to use it.
Feel or Look Test:  Moisturizing, soft and smooth - I really love this product, when I select the right scent.
Packaging: Tub of lotion, easy to screw off top.
Buy Again:  Yes, of course - I am a FCS lover!

The last product is Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle.  I received this in a Birch Box and was excited to use it.  I have never used a detangle product!!  (Yes, I am in my late 30's and have never used one!!)  I was really excited to use it and had high expectations.

Smell Test:  Soft, floral - almost reminiscent of hair spray from the 80's.  Nostalgic scent - and I loved it.
Feel or Look Test: I have long thick hair and after a few spritzes, I was able to brush my hair with zero snags.  It left my hair feeling natural (no crunchiness) and soft.
Packaging: Small, trial size spray bottle.
Buy Again: YES!  Given an opportunity (sale or credit points at Birch Box) this is one of my favorite products so far.

Have you tried any of these products?  What are your thoughts?

Happy Polishing,
Kristi aka @BeginNails

  1. I could use a cuticle oil like that but in a mild scent.
