Cuticula Scented Liquid Nail Tape Review

Greetings and Nailutations,

*Press Sample*
Today I'm sharing my experience with Cuticula Scented Liquid Nail Tape.  Cuticula is a liquid latex base product that is utilized during nail art to save time on clean up as well as making clean up a LOT easier.  Kristin, owner of Cuticula, sent me her mini Fall Trio in the scents of Candy Corn, Cinnamon Roll and Pumpkin Pie.  They also come with adorable nail decals that go with the scent!

I will be sharing the mani that I created using the Pumpkin Pie scented Cuticula and my experiences with it.

I started with a tuxedo mani, as seen below.  I wanted to make it more appropriate for Halloween and what better way to spice up a mani?  Add blood splatter to it!

Red creme polishes can and will stain your cuticles and skin, so it is best to take precautions using a product like Cuticula.  I applied Cuticula to my skin as well as flooded my cuticles with it to ensure that no red creme polish would even think about trying to stain my cuticles.  It dried extremely fast and as soon as I was done with my pinky, my pointer finger was dry.  You can tell it is dry by the color change.  The Pumpkin Pie scent grew stronger as Cuticula dried and it made me crave....you guessed it pumpkin pie!

Once the Cuticula was all dry, I grabbed my favorite red creme and a bobby pin.  I dipped the loop end of the bobby pin into the polish and pulled it out and hovered it slightly above my nails and blew hard in little bursts to get the look of blood splatters.  I did this until I was happy with the look.  As you can see, I could have gone a little farther up my finger with Cuticula.  Lesson learned: don't be shy with Cuticula, she will protect you!

Then I removed my dried Cuticula from each finger, taking most of the red creme with it.  I also included a photo (2nd photo below) of my mani pre-clean up.  Look at how easy my clean up job will be with just the addition of Cuticula!!

And here is the final look!

Other products used:
Polishes: Blank Canvas from Candied Apple Polish, Yoga Pants from Drip Drop Nail Paint, Little Red Dress from Polish My Life, Gem Glam Top Coat from Dream Polish
Products: Vinyls from Nails Jewelry Bling

Loves:  I love the fall scents of this trio and Pumpkin Pie is my favorite!  The best part is that the scent lingers on your fingers after you take it off.  I also love that it dries quickly and is very easy to use and control with the brush.  These little minis are the perfect gift for your fellow nail art addict too!  I also love that they come with nail decals to help inspire some nail art.

Wishes:  I wouldn't change anything with Cuticula.  For me, I can use latex based products and have no allergies....so if I was to wish for anything it would be for the gals out there that are allergic to latex to have a product like this to be able to use.  I'd love to see Kristin carry some non-latex base products too for my friends who are allergic.

Fun With Flags and Love Angeline Polish Nail Art

Greetings and Nailutations!

Today I am doing a link up with some fellow bloggers who are all fans of The Big Bang Theory (TBBT)!  We are all doing manis inspired by a flag, in honor of Sheldon Cooper's You Tube Show Fun With Flags. If you don't watch TBBT, you are missing out, the character of Sheldon is a hoot!  (And as an engineer....I love seeing a show about fellow nerds!)

The first step was thinking about a flag....I thought....and thought.  I almost gave up...literally and wanted to paint my nails all white, but I decided to do a deconstructed flag of the state I currently live in: Arizona.

I never knew there was an actual meaning to the design and colors of the Arizona flag - this research has been enlightening.  The red and gold stripes (13) signify the 13 original states and inspiration from Spain's flag.  The colors of red and gold also represent the beautiful sunsets we see here.  The copper star represents one of the industries that Arizona was famous for: copper.  The bottom blue represents one natures strongest carvers - the Colorado River (it carved out the Grand Canyon).

I used Love Angeline Polishes: Shandy, Bourbon, Red Wine and Manhattan.  The stripes started with Shandy and then I applied a quick dry top coat and straight Nail Vinyls and Red Win.  For the star I started with Manhattan (blue) as the base and then used a white base of China Glaze's White on White with Nail Vinyl star and then topped it with Bourbon, to make it brighter.  I topped the mani with Gem Glam Top Coat from Dream Polish.

Now onto the nail art photos!

This was such a fun theme to work on and I love how it turned out.  I hope you enjoyed my nail art and be sure to see below for links to my fellow Hobby Blogger's Fun With Flags Nail Art.

Ladybug Lacquer Halloween Polishes Swatch and Review

Greetings and Nailutations!

*Prize*
Today I'll be sharing 2 polishes I won as a runner up in a naming contest!  Ladybug Lacquer was having a contest to help name her fun glitter topper.  I didn't win the naming contest, but she liked my name so sent me some pretties!  Ladybug Lacquer products are 5-free, so they don't contain any of the 5 harsh chemicals that can be found in polish.

Now let's get to some swatches!

First up is Sunset Popsicles, a vibrant orange creme.  The formula on this creme was amazing and I did check - it water marbles!  This polish also doubles as a member of her Desert Days Collection.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

Next is Spooky Splash, a glitter topper containing black hexes in a few sizes, squares and large triangles as well as iridescent glitters in a few shapes.  This polish was the naming contest polish.  I suggested "Acute Costume," to make a play on the acute triangles (nerd in me shining through).  I have this shown over Falling Leaves from ZoDi Nail Polish topped with a shiny top coat and in the macro over Sunset Popsicles.

I also did some nail art with the polishes.  The first mani, I started with Sunset Popsicle and added on an accent of Spooky Splash.  Then I applied a few bat vinyl decals from Nails Redesigned and topped it all with a shiny top coat.

The other nail art look I did was using Sunset Popsicles, Purity from Virtuous Polish & ZoDi Nail Polish Falling Leaves with Spooky Splash glitter topper to spice it up and then topped it off with a shiny top coat.

Shiny Top Coat: Gem Glam Top Coat from www.dreampolish.com

Loves: I love that Sunset Popsicle water marbles and has flawless formula.  I also love that Spooky Splash isn't too in-your-face-Halloween so it can really be used throughout the year.  I also love the logo, that little lady bug is absolutely adorable!  And of course I love that Ladybug Lacquer products are 5-free, so they don't contain any of the harsh chemicals that can be found in polish.

Wishes:  Well I do wish I had some of her Desert Days Collection, since I live in the desert.  (I already remedied this wish and ordered them earlier!!)
