HPB Presents: Autumn Shimmer Leaves

Greetings and Nailutations!

Today is something different!  I decided to link up with some other bloggers and we all did out take on Fall/Autumn themed mani!  What I love about this post is that I can really spot light some nail art.

What does Fall/Autumn mean to me?  The first thing that comes to my mind is the leaves changing colors.  It is my favorite thing about Autumn and the one thing I miss, living in the desert.  I wanted to showcase leaves of Autumn.

I started with a base of 2 coats of MTL Creations' Tree Hugger, a milk chocolate brown and I topped it off with Gem Glam Top Coat from Dream Polish and allowed it to dry.

First I painted my skin around my nails with Nail Jewelry Bling Liquid Nail Tape, to make clean up easier.  Then I used some leaf stencils from Nails Redesigned to create the pattern of leaves.  The polishes used were Candy, Lemon Drop and Whisper all from ZR's Polish, which I painted onto a make up sponge.  I then took the sponge and dabbed it over the stencil to create a gradient effect.  Lastly, I added a final top coat of Gem Glam Top Coat from Dream Polish.

I love how the leaves ended up looking.

What is your favorite part of Autumn?

Born Pretty Store Cuticle Tattoos Review

Greetings and Nailutations,

*Press Sample*
Today I will be sharing a product that I received from Born Pretty Store, which is an online store that sells nail art supplies, tools, polish, decals, and even home goods and clothes!  Born Pretty carries affordable products and you can purchase in bulk as well.

The product I am reviewing today is a Sheet Cuticle Tattoo Nail Art Stickers Water Transfer Temporary Decals Lace Flower Patterns (item: 19807). It's a fun way to accentuate your nails and add a little boom-pow to any mani.  They are very easy to apply and work like any temporary tattoo.

1) cut out the image you want
2) remove the plastic film
3) place the image (image down) to your skin (or nail)
4) use a dampened sponge and wet the paper for 15-20 seconds
5) remove paper and the image will be on your skin

The manis below show CDB Lacquer's Dazzling Dreams topped with Gem Glam Top Coat from Dream Polish and the tattoos on 2 accent nails.

To remove the image, nail polish remove works quickly and easily.

Loves:  This product was easy to use and looked great!  I loved how it created a fun new look to a swatch.  Also easy to remove!  There are a few designs to select from on The Born Pretty Store.

Wishes:  I'd love to see other colors (aside from black) offered.

3 Empties: Electic Girls Nail and Hand Fizzies, Clarisonic Deep Pore Daily Cleanser and Gem Glam Top Coat

Greetings and Nailutations,

It's another installment of 3 empties, where I review 3 products I have used up and express my opinion on how well they worked, how they smelled, their packaging and if I'd make a repeat purchase.

The first product is my go to top coat from Dream Polish, Gem Glam Top Coat in the scent of Strawberry Champagne.  This scent was in the January Mani of The Month Box.  Gem Glam Top Coat is also 5-free, so it doesn't contain 5 of the harsh chemicals that can be found in polish.

Smell Test:  smells like soft strawberries, not strong, pleasant and light
Feel Test fast drying
Packaging Test:  it was a mini (regular sizes have perfect wide brushes for easy application)
Buy Again:  Of course!  I have a drawer dedicated to Gem Glam Top Coat scents!

The next product I used up was from Eclectic Girls Nail and Hand Fizzy.  I received this Fizzy in a Mani of The Month Box in July.  I believe it was supposed to be in the shape of a star, but when I received mine, it was crumbled.  (But really the shape doesn't matter much to me since the product behaves the same.)

Smell Test:  smelled nice and soothing
Feel or Look Test:  Dissolved quickly, and left my cuticles, nails, hands moisturized, but covered in glitter.
Packaging: It came in an easy to use plastic baggy
Buy Again:  This was my first official mani-soak type product.  I did enjoy it, however I would have to skip on any products that go in water that have glitter in them.  Glitter isn't environmentally friendly to put down the drain.  I'd like to see brands use environmentally friendly products (and if it is environmentally friendly, stating as such).

The last product was a facial cleanser that I bought when my husband gifted me a Clarisonic.  It is Clarisonic Deep Pore Daily Cleanser.  This cleanser worked well but was a little on the harsher side, so I ended up buying a softer brush, because the hard brush with this cleanser combination was too rough on my skin.

Smell Test:  clean, crisp scent, one of my favorite scents for a facial cleanser.
Feel or Look Test:  I LOVE this facial cleanser.  I am currently trying another, but may go back to this baby.
Packaging: it comes in a 6 fl Oz squeeze tube, easy to flip top.
Buy Again: Yes, unless what I am trying now beats out this cleanser.

Have you tried any of these products?  What are your thoughts?

Happy Polishing,
Kristi aka @BeginNails

Boii Cosmetics Italian Girl and Australian Girl Swatch and Review

Greetings and Nailutations,

Today I am sharing 2 polishes from Boii Cosmetics new Fall line called Girls Around The World. Each polish is inspired by a different country.  The entire collection contains 12 polishes.  Boii Cosmetics polishes are 3-free, so they don't contain 3 of the harsh chemicals that can be found in polish.

Now let's get to some swatches!

First up is Italian Girl, a kelly green shimmer creme.  Formula is absolutely perfection and Italian Girl is a 1-coater!  Yes, that is right, it was completely opaque in 1 coat!  It was hard to capture the color of this polish as my camera kept picking it up more aqua than green.  The macro and brush shot are more color accurate.  Photos show 1 coat with shiny top coat.

Next is Australian Girl (my favorite of the 2), a deep blue shimmer creme.  The formula was like butter and went on smoothly.  It was opaque in just 1 coat.  I love that it applied so perfectly and that it left no streaks (which is common in shimmer polishes).  Photos show 1 coat with shiny top coat.

Shiny Top Coat: Gem Glam Top Coat from www.dreampolish.com

Loves: Formula is fantastic.  They both applied smoothly and were completely opaque in just 1 coat.  I love Italian Girl, the deep blue is soothing and edgy at the same time.  I also love the inspiration of this collection!  And of course it's always a plus when a polish is 3-free.

Wishes: I wouldn't change anything on these 2 polishes.  I look forward to seeing more of this collection.

Happy Polishing,
Kristi aka @BeginNails
